We're pretty sure that there is one task topping most women's summer to-do list: see the scorching hot, yet blushworthy flick that is "Magic Mike." Channing Tatum leaves little to the imagination in his upcoming stripper movie, which features the actor taking it off and busting out some impressive dance moves.
If any of that interests you — we're sure it does — we highly suggest not letting this movie pass you by, since Tatum revealed to MTV News that this is the last time you will see or hear him talk about his stripper past.
"This will be my swan song, I will never do or talk anything about stripping after this ever, ever again," Channing told MTV News backstage during Movie Awards Sneak Peak Week, adding that a blank stare is "all anyone will ever get" if they ask him about stripping.
Until then, Tatum has no shame in talking about his former profession, calling it a "hilarious time in his life." Yet, when first approached to make the film by director Steven Soderbergh, Tatum did have his doubts.
"I did this for about eight months of my life, and I told Soderbergh about it, and he was just like, 'Look, we have to make this into a movie.' And I was like, 'why?' and then he's like, 'Because I've never seen it before,' " Tatum said.
The actor leads an A-list cast that includes Hollywood's hottest leading men, Matthew McConaughey and Joe Manganiello, who gave audiences a sneak peek at what they can expect from the film when they presented the Best On-Screen Transformation award to Elizabeth Banks at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night.
"It was just crazy, the whole time we were going through it, we just started laughing," Tatum said of the movie, which hits theaters June 29. "What I think people don't realize we financed this ourselves, we wrote and produced it all ourselves, it's not a studio movie. I'm interested to see what people's reactions are, it's a fun movie, the first half and a serious movie the second."
So will Tatum be breaking out his go-to stripper move in the flick?
"There is always a go-to stripper move," he said. "But that's for the wifey."
Jaw-dropping, heart-pounding, gut-busting moments galore. See what went down at the 21st annual MTV Movie Awards!
