Wild Goose Qigong: A Gentle Path Towards Health and Fitness (Saturdays, 10:00-11:30am)
Event on 2012-03-10 00:00:00
Goose Qigong (Qi Gong) is a 1700-year-old gentle exercise form developed to promote health, well-being and longevity. Its 64 graceful movements mimic the habits of wild geese and are designed to strengthen the flow of qi, our life-force energy. The benefits of practicing this beautiful form include: enhanced vitality, stress reduction, greater flexibility, fewer aches and pains, improved concentration and a stronger immune system. Not sure this is for you? Come visit a class before the next session starts, or attend the first class of a session, for free. Just call or email to let us know you would like to do this. Most people, after visiting, are ready to sign up and "join the flock!" All classes are offered at Energy Matters Acupuncture & Qigong, located at 4341 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611. Student Comments: "I had always been interested in trying qigong. The very first lesson was so well taught, so informative, so packed with new information, that I stayed the whole 16 weeks and will continue in the fall. I enjoy learning about the body and trying to improve each movement."- G.M. "When I began Dayan Qigong in September of 2008, I had such bad aches in my joints ? especially my hands and legs ? that I was seeing my acupuncturist every week. Now, almost 10 months later, I hardly see him at all. He says, 'Good! Do more qigong and less acupuncture!' Because I practice Dayan Qigong on a daily basis, I am pain free." -B.A. "By awakening to the body's inherent sense of balance, I have sharpened my mental focus and have learned new skills to help quiet the mind." ? R.O. All the teachers at Energy Matters were trained and certified to teach Dayan (Wild Goose) Qigong by Master Hui Liu at the Wen Wu School of Martial Arts. Master Hui Liu is a primary student of Master Yang Mei Jun, the world's foremost practitioner of Dayan Qigong. Master Yang enjoyed excellent physical and mental health until her death at age 108 in China.
