Kitchen Outlet Countertop - Electrical - DIY Chatroom - DIY Home ...

I'm not an electrician but i'm working on my kitchen right now and here's what I understand.

You seem to be asking two separate questions.

Countertop outlets have to be spaced no further than 4 feet apart measured on the length of the wall so that an appliance with a 2 foot cord can be placed ANYWHERE on the counter and still be within reach of an outlet.

Your other question about circuits

You need two circuits for outlets in the kitchen. AFAIK both have to be GFCI protected in some approved manner.
